There once was a man who had worked all of his life and had saved all of the money he could.
He was a real cheapskate. He loved money more than just about anything, including his wife and kids. Just before he died, he said to his wife:
"Now listen, when I die I want you to take all of my money and put it into the casket with me and I want to be buried with it. I know they say that you can't take it with you, but I don't see any reason why not."
So he got his wife to promise him with all her heart that when he died she would put his money into the casket with him. And then one day he died.
He was stretched out in the casket, and his wife was sitting there dressed in black next to his sister. When they had finished the ceremony, just before the undertakers got ready to close the casket, the wife said, "Wait just a second!"
She had a shoe box with her, and she went over with the box and put it in to the casket. Then the undertakers closed the casket and rolled it away.
His sister said, "I sure hope you weren't crazy enough to put that money in that casket with that stingy old man."
She replied, "Oh, yes. I promised. You know I'm a Christian and I do my best to honor my word. I promised him that I was going to put that money in that casket with him, and I did!"
"You mean to tell me that you put every cent of all of his savings in that casket with him?"
"I sure did," said the wife. "I got it all together, put it into my account, and wrote him a check."
Haha! (Story copied.)
Remember what God says about fools. It ain't good. The book of Proverbs is full of warnings. But the saddest thing written about a fool is found in the book of Psalms, where David says this: "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God." (14:1) A fool is someone you sure don't want to be. :)
